New Constitution Signed by Triumvirate

Today the Triumvirate finally announced that the new Constitution has been signed and ratified. It is the second Constitution that the United Republics has functioned under, and in this newest Constitution many improvements have been made.

There are several differences between the new Constitution and the old Constitution, including the abolition of the Legislature and the incorporation of its powers and responsibilities into the Triumvirate and the Judicial Quorum, as well as making it easier to ratify an amendment. Triumvir Collin Sawyer remarked that; “this action represents a bold step forward in the progression of the improvement of the Government of this great country.” Despite generally positive reactions, some have expressed concerns about the amount of power placed into the Triumvirate, though the Triumvirate addressed these concerns by saying; “the power of the Triumvirate is all but impossible to abuse due to the restrictions imposed by the Judicial Quorum.” The main reason for the abolishment of the Legislature was given as; “our country, being a micronation, lacks the number of citizens for functional legislature, and it would therefore only serve to slow the progress of the URT.”
